Building
a DataZone
Your association’s DataZone is completely customized
to meet your association’s and your members’ needs.
The building process starts with a DataZone Strategy Design Workshop,
a one-day workshop with senior staff, board members and others who can
contribute to the project. Facilitated by a Tecker
consultant, the group participates in a series of discussions to identify
the major decisions, issues, challenges and opportunities the association
will face during the near year, two years and three years.
The group then identifies the information needed to make knowledge-based
decisions in these areas, prioritizes that information and identifies
the best sources of obtaining the data. The outcome of the workshop
is a research agenda and that will serve the association regardless
of whether you proceed to implementation of the DataZone. We also have
an in-depth discussions about creating value for
your association’s members, recruiting, generating
non-dues revenue and identify the critical success factors for your
DataZone.
In addition to the development of a well-considered research agenda
for your organization, the workshop data becomes a key component of
a customized proposal and work plan for your DataZone. There is no financial
commitment for your organization beyond the Strategy Design Workshop.
Once your DataZone is approved, we proceed to work with your staff and
board to collect any necessary input and data. The next steps include
database development, website design, pre-launch review, beta testing
and participant recruiting. Long-term we work with you on panel building
and maintenance as well as the implementation of your research agenda.
